Expertise
What we bring to a project.
We work across the whole life of a hydropower plant, from the first survey to the years of operation that follow, with one team accountable throughout.
How we work
The full life of a project.
We run all eight stages ourselves, so accountability never changes hands.
01
Reconnaissance
We survey the site and set up stream gauging to measure the river before any money is committed to it.
02
Feasibility
We model the hydrology, simulate the energy yield, and run the geotechnical work, producing flow figures a lender can rely on.
03
Environmental & social
We assess the impact to international standards, design minimum downstream flows, and consult the community early.
04
Design
We handle the civil, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical design, matching the turbine to the site's head and flow, and specifying to IEC and IEEE standards.
05
Permitting
We secure the generation licence, the water and land rights, the power purchase agreement, and the financing.
06
Construction
We supervise the build, manage quality and safety, and administer the contract.
07
Grid connection
We design the substation and transmission link to meet the national grid code, then commission and synchronise the plant.
08
Operation
We run and maintain the plant, train local operators, and manage the overhauls that extend its working life.
Standards
Built to the standards lenders require.
Environmental and social performance is a condition of financing, not a matter of presentation, so we treat it as engineering.
- 01A full environmental and social impact assessment against international standards and the national regulation of the country it sits in
- 02Minimum downstream flows that keep the river alive through the dry season
- 03Fish passage where a species needs to move past the works
- 04A grievance channel that is documented, reachable, and answered
- 05Community agreements that are written down, monitored, and open
