SIGMAEnergy DevelopersTalk to us

Who we are

An African company, built for the long term.

SIGMA Energy Developers is an African hydropower company, registered and headquartered in Kigali. We believe energy projects on this continent are best led by people who know its rivers, its institutions, and the communities they affect.

What we value

How we work, and why.

Sound engineering

We do not cut corners on the technical work. Every design choice is one we can defend for the life of the asset.

Real partnership

Governments and communities are partners in a project, not boxes to tick.

The long view

We build for permanence, not the quick exit, creating enduring assets to own, operate, and compound value over time.

A steadier grid

We design with the whole grid in mind, not only the output of our own plant.

Working with us

Who we work with.

National plans across Africa already identify where much of the continent's hydropower potential lies. Turning that potential into operating projects requires sustained technical, institutional, financial, and regulatory work. That is the work SIGMA does, alongside the partners needed to do it well.

Technical and financial partners

We lead project development and engineering, working with equipment suppliers, contractors, financiers, and other specialist partners to develop projects that meet international technical, financial, and bankability standards.

Governments and institutions

We work with local and national governments, public institutions, funds, grant providers, and development partners to align projects with national priorities, strengthen institutional support, and mobilise the resources required for successful delivery.

Communities

The people and communities that host a project are partners in its development. We engage local leadership early, before construction begins, and establish clear commitments that are documented, monitored, and followed through throughout the life of the project.
